If someone has a M38 with the original tub handy I need the measurement from the dash to the center of the side curtain rod hole.

3/8" difference , I guess they weren't concerned with accuracy that much. That's that's what I needed.

Error, that's 3/4" that seems like a large amount

Course my tub is probably tweaked.

Probably not much chance it grew, but being squished
makes sense.

If it was me wait for a confirming measurement, or use
30-1/2".

If you are making your own rods, you can easily match
the measurement.

It's a repro tub that didn't have the holes. I will be welding in tubes (pockets) - I was figuring on using 30- 1/2. There's nothing much to the rods 3/8 rod. There's those measurements somewhere on this site in the photo galleries

Original tub.
30-1/2" Passenger
30-3/8" Driver

I also checked it to the flat spot on the tub directly at the back end. 1/8" off there to. I just go with 30-1/2" and call it good.

Just so you know, they aren't tubes there, its formed sheet metal brackets that makes a pocket but a tube should work.

Wow, so yours is different both sides too, Brett?

That is weird.

Yup, the thing is if you are making the rods make the holes
and match the rods.

The rods, 3/8 fit the tubing. I'm thinking I'll put a piece of rod in the tube as a stop and tack the tube to the drilled hole and to the hat channel. It's not an award-winning 38 - it's a lot of salad, but is looks correct at a glance and by other then "judges". It's on page 8 galleries, the posting the has the distributor diagram

Did find a photo, it is a pocket, looks to be short maybe less than 2 inch. So I'll have to weld tabs to tubing then spot weld to the tub and tack the drilled hole. I likely won't get to it till after the Mason Dixon show, so I'll have a better look
