Trying to put transmission back together and got new spring clips and tabs (?) For the inner hub. The old spring clips were very weak compared to the new ones. Is it better for all this to be really tight? I can't seem to get this back together now. It goes together with ease with the old spring clips.

Also, on my transfer case, how do I get the bushing out of the main shaft? I bought a new one and would like to replace it.

thanks in advance.

WRT the bushing, I am in the middle of my transfer case rebuild and I found these discussions when I was at that point.

There are multiple ways discussed and also there are plenty of videos online as well. I am just having a machine shop deal with it since I don't have a press and they will have to ream it out to the correct I.D.
