What are the differences in CJ3A (or other) and M38 front seats aside from the legs and height?

Can someone take a good M38 seat frame bottom and attach a good CJ3A seat frame back to make a useable and/or correct M38 seat? Do the frames match?

I've looked at several vendors' sites Classic in particular and there seems to be some confusion as to what a post war civvy seat back looks like versus and M38.

Thanks!

Both the M38 and the CJ3A driver's seat tilt back more aft at the top for extra belly room at the steering wheel. The increase in rearward angle of the rear wheel house accommodates this feature.

As for this question:

I guess it depends on how a grand a deception scam you envision. There are some subtle differences in the seat backs which you should be able to discern from the photos. The choice is yours.

No grand deception scam intended here at all Wes.
Just trying to salvage good seat frame parts into
good seats.

Then it shall always be a useable but not correct M38 seat!

I guess I need help looking at differences. It appears the m38
has a mounting hole with welded nut inside the tube, whereas
the CJ has a bolt. Both have three pressed ribs, four flat
areas, but I do not see any other differences.
