Congratulations on your new flatfender. So how about some more clues? What is the serial number, and where is the serial number plate? Posting some pictures would really help. _________________ Support our troops, past and present.

Hi,
Thanks for replying. The serial number is as follows and the first 2 or 3 characters are unreadable: xxx JI 96952A, there is also a serial number I got off the toe board on the body under the hood and it is 171328 the serial number the first one I gave you was mounted under the hood on the passenger side on the firewall and measures 1 3/4" high and 3 5/8 long and is made of aluminum with 4 mounting holes in each corner. Something odd the top bow brackets are mounted on the passenger side and appear to be factory. I will post some pics asap
Thanks
J.R.
Most likely an early CJ2A. The 171328 from the toe board gusset is an ACM body tub serial. There should be the same number on the right tail gate upright. The firewall tag on the the 96952 would make it a 1947 CJ2A.passenger side is also a CJ2A thing.
