PostPosted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 4:18 pm    Post subject: Spring Shackle Rubber Source... Reply with quote

I am almost ready to reassemble my M-100 trailer; tub is at the sandbasters as I speak... Knowing that the spring shackles are the same for the M-38 and the M-100 I am posting here to up my chances for a response...

I need to find some rubbers that go on the spring shackles... I cannot see buying new shackles when the ones I have are in good shape save for the rubber parts.

Any help would be appreciated...

Ryan,

On the "C" shaped shackles between the frame and the springs are rubber oil seals. On the M-100 trailer there are the same shackles used, my shackles are in good shape, however the rubber seals are shot...

Hope this helps...

Hal,
The 1951 M100 ORD 9 and 1972 M100 IPL TM 9-2330-201-14 I have both call for the seal as part number 7328323, Lt U bolt 7371090, Lt bushing 7328324, Rt U bolt 7735833 and Rt bushing 7328325 and the M38 ORD 9 calls out seal 7697602, Lt U bolt 7371090, Lt bushing 7697596, Rt U bolt 7735833, Rt Bushing 7697598 so there must be a little difference.

I believe you are looking for item D.

Hi

The rubber seals alone are available from Brent Mullens Jeep Parts. You do not need to buy complete shackles.
