I am not a frequent visitor to the site, but come on here every once in awhile to look around and enjoy some pics and material until I can get my own m38.
I figured I would try my luck here as I am looking for a venting windshield for my '60 CJ5. My e-mail is kiowamtp@yahoo.com. Thanks
The reason you'll often see me quote what I value something at and then get flamed is because my estimates are usually low because I don't quote values on something based on public forum and Ebay prices.
I found that being patient and paying very close attention at what's for sale where (often staying far away from knowlegable jeep folks) I often find reasonably priced stuff. The key is to not rattle the money wand when looking for something.
If I were to consider selling my 60 CJ5 or it's factory T98 4 spd or its ventillating windshield or it's posi diffs they would be priced right up there at the market retail level. The body is a little rusty but 2 years ago I traded some maintenance (installed a F134 in a M38A1 & converted it to 12 volt and rewired it) for it and all the A1's 24 volt stuff and original MDxxxxx oil burning engine. That comes out to about 20 hours labor for about $3,000 worth of goodies. I even picked up a full 1960 factory canvas top and bow set for it for $50.
So lay low, pay attention and jump when the time is right.
By the way a very kind gentleman in India can help us with replacement inner to outer frame rubber gaskets from Mahindra as well. _________________ Wes K

Point taken. Thanks
BTW Just kidding about if yours was for sale. I figured it wasn't.
Now if I could figure a way to get her from Maryland to Wisconsin I'd split her with you. _________________ Wes K

I saw that one. The windshield looks like it would need plenty of cleaning up and repair. More that I could handle by myself. I found one for 350 that looks like it has been in storage since day one but it is across the coast from me. I am still debating on spending that much cash for one. I know they resale for higher now but my budget was not expecting that much. I also found just the inner piece for 75.00 (awaiting pics) and researching the possibilities of fabbing it onto my existing windshield. It looks like I should be able to "pop" out my exisiting glass and placing that one on the outside frame support. Question is how would I fab it on there and is it even possible without a major modification. I wish I had one closer to look at. Closeup pics of just the hinge assy and bracketry would be nice. I am trying to get ahold of the owner of the above mentioned JEEP to see if I can buy the hinges and latches from him.
