Does anyone have a good close up photo of the straps sewn on the back lower edge of the M38 canvas top? These are the straps that secure the top to the tailgate area when the top is up. I am trying to resurrect an old top. I have the straps, I just need the detail of how they are sewn on. I looked thru the member photos but didn't find what I need. Thanks.

Dan

Dan
I'm not very sure the straps looks the same for M38, but anyway here are the straps on my new top on my M38A1. Hopfully they help you out. There are 6 footman loops, 4 welded to the cross stiffener on the tailgate, and one on each rear fender.

Thanks for the photos. Is someone here able to acknowledge that the M38 strap is attached the same as the M38A1? Thanks.

Take a look at this old G503 post that discusses an original Army supply system issued replacement top canvas:

Yes, it seems to me to be the same pattern for the straps for both jeeps.
