my 1954 M170 has the original harness in it and on mine #40 comes out the light switch connector as one wire to a factory rubber splice block with 2 pigtails on the other end for each dash light. There is no douglas or packard double connector used. _________________ Gary Keating

Thanks for that. I seem to remember on the schematics a black box
denoted a molded factory splice like you mention, and what is used on the
left rear of the A1's.

Ahhhh........another difference between the M170 and M38A1 harnesses. Brian, you mention a splice block at the rear of the harness. I seem to remember seeing pics of those black rubber blocks when I was searching for something, but didn't pay much mind to them. There are no such blocks on my M170 harness at the rear split for the two tail lights. I haven't peeled the tape off there yet, but will when I get home from work later. Guess NATO didn't think much of splice blocks either.
