M38. Anybody know the end float required on the output shaft of the transfer box on the m38 ? Im busy replacing the seal in there .....cant find any trace of shims .....

Endplay on the output shaft should be 0.004-0.008

Rick Stivers rebuild guide is about the easiest to read and comprehend.

Ok thanks 4x4. Ive managed to find a couple of you tube clips on the subject which are helpful . One problem i have, is that All the diagrams /schematics i have, show different arrangements regarding felt seals etc etc. There doesnt seem to be anything standardised . Be grateful if someone here can advise .
