I believe John only stocks the box and not the frame support tray.

The CJ3A tray is taller. If you intend to utilize the correct for the M38 under hood battery box then you will need the shorter M38 battery tray.

M38 under hood battery box.

M38 battery support bracket. About 2" shorter than CJ3A bracket.

Thanks for the photos, anyway i can get the actual measurements from the tray.
Do you think it is worth buying the cj3a tray and rewelding it?

The 3A tray will need to be shortened first and then there is the risk of changes in mounting angles. Take a look at the last post by Alexander in this thread:

http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7773&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

He had a person in Brazil build him a new replacement.

You can compare the trays below:

Those corrugated end plates will be very difficult to shorten.

You might check with Matt Fox, QTM Parts. He has listed various parts removed from unrestorable tubs and frames.

John at Midwest Military might even sell a reproduction.
