Finished up filling the steering box with oil and went to go out the horn rod in, but it’s about 7” too short. You can see they took a pair of side cutters and snipped the end off. Well- that’s another 60$.
Wanted to work on the T90 today. Thought I d everything.
No stamping on the top of the case like others have.
The old case had a 4 30 in the casting but that was it.
Didn’t have the bearing spacer... had to go pull the old one.
So these devil clips... I don’t have the right pliers for them. Ordered off amazon for 12.00 and arriving Tuesday. I used every set of snap pliers I have (whole icon set, a crescent set, and a no name brand kind... not good enough. ($120.00 worth of useless snap pliers it turned out.
So I’m at a standstill for the T90 till Wednesday after work.(maybe Tuesday, but my track record of getting out of work at a decent hour is terrible).
So I started taking the driveshafts apart. Crunchy!
I did index some punch dots on the yokes and body of the driveshaft before I took them apart. Used an entire can of breakclewn and dunked these in the evaporust

In case you didn't know that eBay seller (wcfr4) is Quarter Ton and Military from Georgia. Good people to deal with.

Brian,I thought about doing that. Had even looked. Our box stores didn’t have what I needed. The Ace near my place is closed on Sundays.
And Ron, that was exactly what I needed- worth the 22.$. I ended up adding a few other items to the cart. The roll pins for the shifter forks of the T90 were in that pile. My box stores have them, but I forgot to pick it up the other day when looking for the horn rod substitute.
I have the end nut for the rod still. Can just switch it over to the replacement.
I also asked in an email to the seller if they had a used female plug and cover for the trailer. I originally didn’t think about it way back when I welded the panel in. I bought the plain one. I could have gotten the trailer socket hole and taillight cutout, but- dumbdumb decided not to. If I get the socket and cover, I can make it work.
I saw he had a nos cover, but $&%, if there is a used but good- I’ll take it.
I’m slowly getting out of the dirty phase of this project. I have a bell housing to clean and prep. I think that may be the last of the worst. I have a oil filter thing (I’ll find the tech term/photo later) and get that in the cleaning tank.
The engine still at the builder. I probably should run by there and see how they are doing. It’s been about a month since I last was there’s. I’m leaving on deployment in about 4 weeks so if it’s not ready now, it may have to wait till April. _________________ April

DeBella sent me the data plates and some rivets. I will see if I can pull the one incorrect plate from my data plate panel this afternoon. I did put one incorrect on the panel for sure. I have to go be sure the rest are all the same. _________________ April

Hi Coastie,
Did you get 4 replacement plates or just those 2?
Of the 6 plates, 4 are peculiar to the specific model M38 or M38A1.
For example, the Servicing Data plate for a M38 shows the gas tank capacity as 13 gallons. That plate for the M38A1 shows 17 gallons.
And the Shift Pattern plate for the M38 shows G740 manuals while the M38A1 plate shows G758 manuals. _________________ Ron D.

He only sent me those two.
Well... I’m not one to give up quick but whatever... I have a feeling it would be more a hassle next.
I will figure out what I should have and get it. That’s frustrating. _________________ April

Cooking right along with reassembling the T90 now that the snap pliers arrived from amazon. Took less that 10 seconds to get the ring on... never a bad reason to buy tools...
Couldn’t find my shift tower spring. I have the table and dolly cart where the parts are, it’s gotta was there...
But can’t really assemble that fully yet as I need to get those roll pins for the forks.
Anyway, the weather should warm up to the 50s today so I’m hoping to at least slap the top on the case and spray some paint on the transmission. _________________ April

Found he spring. Hidden in plain sight.
I emailed Dataplates4u about stamping the two plates I would need done correctly. I will buy those if he has available. I know he has the wheel well plate in stock as I saw on eBay. _________________ April

Hi April,
Could you please give us a photo and a link to those snap-ring pliers you bought that did the job? _________________ Ron D.

Was trying to get the bearing to seat against that spacer and plate, but couldn’t. It had a gap.
I took it all apart again, and switched the plate.
Fit, so the new one must be cut wrong. When I was putting it together the first time, I didn’t even realize they were slightly different.
Shift tower reassembly is next. I have some NOS shift rail pins coming. Was very cheap so I tossed in on my order for the horn rod. _________________ April
