I installed a completely overhauled F-head engine in my M38A1.
After 15minutes, the oil pressure still reads high, see photos.
Gauge and sender are not very old by the way.
What could be the reason?
- is this normal with new engines?
- what could be wrong?

What RPM you at and what weight oil? On a new engine you could have 70 or more psi when you rev it but your relief valve should open before that. I would try a mechanical gauge to verify your gauge and sender are accurate then make sure your relief value is working and your pressure is below 60. Did you verify the timing gear sprayer nozzle was clear? _________________ '53 M38A1 X2
