Driving home from impromptu VE Day display I shifted to second gear and let the clutch out and all kinds of racket started. Haven’t had time to look at it yet but am sure will need to pull Tran and transfer case. Pretty sure some hard parts broke. Will still move slowly in low and third. If I decide to just buy a replacement is there a trusted source or does anyone have one for sale. I had a spare up until January when I decided after having it for three years that I would never need it and sold it. I should have known better. Thanks, Mike McMahan

Once open you can find out what happened. If things are not toast look for NOS parts if you can. Spent a bit more of transmission parts when we did ours but we ended up with a mix of NOS parts and select new manufactured parts.

Take it out and open it up. Only way to diagnose this one. You may want to try and removing the shift tower so you can see quickly from the top what happened but it it made a lot of noise and refuses to move in 2nd I'd bet the 2nd gear or cluster gear for 2nd is badly damaged.
