Anyone know the size of the 4 bolts that go through the front of the windshield frame and are used to secure it to the top half of the hinges?

Hi Cobra,
Maybe. Which vehicle are you talking about? I'd be glad to help, but my crystal balls are out being washed so I can't see what you got right now.

I'm guessing that you haven't looked in any of the tech manuals that are free for download on this site and you'd like one of us to spoon feed the answer to you?

On my M38, those bolts are shown on page 291, Figure 18-4 of the ORD9 SNL, and described on page 298 as 1/4-20 x 1-3/8, hex head, internal tooth lock washer, steel or zinc plated. Took me about 3 minutes to find them. Hope this helps!

Hello Cobra5,

Ron beat me to my little routine on the use of tech data. I am not usually as rough as Ron just was. At any rate we are both USAF MSgt's (retired)! My tour was 1966 to 1989.

I do see your two Willys jeeps are M38A1's. So you need ORD 9 SNL G-758.

Click on "Downloads" up at the top of the screen between "Articles" and "Photo Gallery".
http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Downloads

Then click on Manuals
http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=60

Then Click on M38A1
http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=63

There are 18 manuals and changes there. They are free PDF's so download and copy all.

The ORD 9 SNL G-758 is: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=87

You are looking for the bolts for item CC which are in section 1804. Jot down the part number of the hinge: 8392985 Now go to section 1804 and proceed to the letter H for hinge.

Voila the 4 bolts and 6 screws listed below the Hinge are the attaching hardware for that hinge. About mid page

Hi Cobra,
Yes, been there, done that. Look right at something in the manuals and don't see it. And they're known to have typo's and errors. Glad to hear you have and use them. My apology if my response was "rough". Sometimes I'm a tad too blunt like 60-grit sandpaper but will always help if I can. Very Happy Glad you got your answer.

Wes is the 320-grit man in this forum. And I'm thankful for that!

Ron,
I think you were very generous with the 320, I'd give him more like 180 to 240!lol
