The most current plug is the Autolite 2243. If she's burning a little oil the hotter 2245 will work. These would be a special order item at you car parts store. Most of the MV vendors carry them. You can also keep your eye open for the other brands and older numbers:
Champion XMJ-14 or hotter -17
AC WR44 or hotter WR46
Old Auto-Lite AR5S or hotter AR7S

Here in belgium i once saw BOSCH waterproof plugs with two electrodes for use in the nekaf engine ( dutch made M38A1). Are they a better choise instead of the autolite 2243.

In my M38 i use the 2243 plugs, how long ( miles ) can they be used before they need to be replaced ?

Well she is not burning anything at the moment I will need to rebuild the engine that is locked up first just planning ahead. Also has any one heard that Autolite might stop making these? I thought I read that somewhere.

Also what is a fair price on these?

Thanks

I have autolite plugs for 8.50 ea. I have to buy 200 plugs at a time, and I can tell you that my cost is way higher than $5 ea. If you find them for $5 you had better buy them.

If you are on good terms with your local NAPA store; I know at one time they could order them for you. I used to get mine through them and although I had to buy a box of 12 the cost per plug was considerably less than what vendors were listing a per plug price for.

Depending on how the jeep is used or driven. Depending on the type and quality of the fuel used and depending on how well the carburetor and distributor are doing their jobs anywhere from 2,000 to 15,000 miles.

Periodic cleaning and regapping will lengthen their life considerably.

The hotter 2245 is the correct plug for the F134.

I checked at my local Carquest and they can have them here tomorrow at $7.79 each in a box of 4.

called Autolite and they said that in St louis Autozone and NAPA should be able to order them I also asked what the MSRP was. Autolite said $7.89 I think I now was less than $8. Auto Zone said that they could not get them. NAPA said that they could but there would be a $7 order charge no matter how many I order. So I guess I will but a bunch or at least two sets

It's a shame you don't have a Carquest in St Louis. It was 7.79 each period.
No extra charges.
