I have owned this jeep for over 40 years. The floor pans and hat channels were rusted out when I bought it, but being a naive teenager, my "fix" was Bondo. Lots and lots of Bondo. Well, now it is time to do it right.

My son is a welder so is helping me (or is it the other way around?) with the repairs. The replacement floor pans were purchased from QTM Jeep parts and were sent cut in half. So that is where we started by removing the driver's side in pieces.

With it removed:

Replacement being test fitted.

A cut-off wheel and spot-weld drill are a must.
Until next time,
Kendall

It has been a while since having my welder home. He has been on the road with his job making real money. Anyway he got the driver's side welded in today and the passenger side cut out.

This was the rot that was removed.

Yes I am very fortunate to have my son be able to utilize his skills and abilities on my jeep project.
More progress photos will be posted as they become available.

Thanks Kendall!!

Btw, that’s a terrific shot of the bottom of the dash, showing the battery box mounting and more.

Those shots are rarely seen. I have a few in my photo albums if you are looking for more detailed under dash shots:
