Hi can you tell me how much sideways movement you should have on this part.

I have fitted new ball ends and the kit which contains springs and felt pads and the little metal discs which go inside the tube.

There is about 1/2 inch sideways movement when you grab the tube. Sounds about right?

Cheers Horse.

Sounds like you are missing parts that belong in the ends of that cross tube.

There are different width cross tubes based on the chassis they are used in and weather the engine side ball mounts on the bell or the tranny.

Thanks for that. I did not know there are different size tubes. Will check it all out again.

Hi. Found the problem. All the parts fitted correctly but the cross tube had worn oval so had a lot of movement on the ball ends.. New cross tube and all is well.
