I'm picking up a '53 M38a1 that has an 11" brake conversion. The Jeep is going to need wheel cylinders due to sitting a long time. How do I tell what the wheel cylinders (and the shoes and drums for that matter) came from?
The wheel cylinders should have numbers on them that can be cross-referenced. If not, you can measure the bore and length of the wheel cylinders and width of the brake shoes. napaonline.com is a good place to search since it allows searching by part type and size. Some part stores still have means to look something up by size.

Hi good luck with the brakes rather rare. I took my shoes to an industrial brake reliner and he relined them . I could not get shoes from any suppliers here in Canada or the USA. My cylinders were good so all turned out well . You can still get Wagner master cylinders and new spring kits Cheers Rob
