Well spent the last two days working on the M-38A1, wired in the pass tail light, adjusted and blead the brakes. took care of a few other little items that needed work on.

This morning went out and found some 2ga lugs to make a jumper between batteries, went to the hardware store and got the hardware for the batteries, then picked up 2 51R Duracells from Sam's ($105 EA).

Came home and made two fiberglass spacers the mount in the battery hold downs to keep the batteries in place (Photos to follow). Mounted the batteries. Hooked them up and found the horn acting up, disconnected horn.

Finally ready to see if the old gal will fire up. I used a syringe to insert fuel into the carb bowl thru the air vent. She cranked over, but no fire. Checked plugs they were damp. Checked power to the distributor, none... Found I had not hooked wire #11 up properly, got that corrected. Went to try it again and got a big bang out the exhaust pipe but no fire...

Troubleshot some more and found the fuel pump NOT delivering fuel to the carb. Short story is I have ordered a new fuel pump, broke the long bolt off in the block (Will fix that tomorrow weather permitting) and we will go from there.

I know I can rebuild the fuel pump, I did long time ago, but not up to it so have ordered on from MWM. Should be here Wed / Thur .

Plan on fixing the broken bolt, is new one ordered. Going to attempt to weld a nut on the old broken bolt and see if I can get it out.

Will keep you advised....
