That's 200 miles from me.
It's got a CJ grill and windshield on it (and who knows what else), but could be worth it in parts value. _________________ Ron D.

Ive seen much worse! Doesn't look like it was molested too much, other than the grill and the windshield as already pointed out.
A little WD-40 and that motor could be purring! _________________ '52 Dodge M37, '42 GPW, '48 FrankenJeep CJ2A/M38, '50 CJV-35(U), '51 M38, '42 WC-57 Command Car, '44 WC-51 Weapons , (2) M1941 Sperry 60" Anti-Aircraft Searchlights, John Deere M-gator, '44 White M3A1 Scout Car

Kind of hard to tell in the photos, but I don't see hinges at the bottom of the grill like the M38 has. _________________ Ron D.

No holes for the headlight guards either. You can't put Civvie headlight buckets in a M38 without hacking. _________________ '52 Dodge M37, '42 GPW, '48 FrankenJeep CJ2A/M38, '50 CJV-35(U), '51 M38, '42 WC-57 Command Car, '44 WC-51 Weapons , (2) M1941 Sperry 60" Anti-Aircraft Searchlights, John Deere M-gator, '44 White M3A1 Scout Car
Here is an M38 grille, notice it is a perfectly round hole with eight mounting holes. Then compare to a a CJ. They have four tab like protrusions that go inside the circle and have 4 mounting holes. I may have mixed up which way is not interchangeable, but went through this trying to sort out a salad jeep.
Not sure what im doing wrong with the IMG stuff _________________ '52 Dodge M37, '42 GPW, '48 FrankenJeep CJ2A/M38, '50 CJV-35(U), '51 M38, '42 WC-57 Command Car, '44 WC-51 Weapons , (2) M1941 Sperry 60" Anti-Aircraft Searchlights, John Deere M-gator, '44 White M3A1 Scout Car

The seller found the master data plate, posted photos of it (replacing the grill photos) and raised the starting bid price from $1500 to $2000.
Still no takers, but maybe he's watching our interest.
No hinges on the bottom of the grill still say it's not a M38 grill to me. But the grill is just a small part of the deal. Before he took those photos down, I'm pretty sure I saw an M38 frame (boxed in the front rails).
In case he sees this, I wonder if he has the head for the motor, and what the serial number on the block might be.
$500 more just for the data plates is a little optimistic to me. He also doesn't say whether or not there's a matching patent plate on the passenger wheel well. Also says no title (SC issues titles for everything), so possible red flag there. _________________ Ron D.

I paid 2000 for one of the M38s I have had. Drove it home too. _________________ '52 Dodge M37, '42 GPW, '48 FrankenJeep CJ2A/M38, '50 CJV-35(U), '51 M38, '42 WC-57 Command Car, '44 WC-51 Weapons , (2) M1941 Sperry 60" Anti-Aircraft Searchlights, John Deere M-gator, '44 White M3A1 Scout Car

I'm just guessing that had to be quite a few years ago? When money was real. _________________ Ron D.
