How can I remove the engine bay battery box? I see there is a frame underneath it, that is fixed onto the chassis with welding and rivets.
Inside my box there is another kind of frame to fit the battery on it I presume, but it seems either stuck or welded in the box and I cant remove it.
Thanks
Aris

if unmodified, that inner base inside the battery box is a tight fit, but not welded, or bolted in. the j-hooks pass through it to hold the battery and box down to the frame tray.
the link below shows the parts of the box assembly. the base inside the box is the black item top right

OK, after some searching I out there is the TRAY welded on the chassis and then the BOX goes on top of it. I also found a picture showing there are IN the box more items in it, like the base for the battery etc. My question how can I remove that base, as it is tottaly rusted in place, is it bolted in there or what?

Done, all out, the detailed pictures helped as all the innards were 'cemented' in there probably since the Korean war! Thank you all!
