Mine is actually a March 1955 unit.
Willys was really cranking the out in the early years.

Mine has the early style cluster with those large recessed lights.

Turned out to be a cable which was twisted until it snapped.

You could cut off and save about 6 inches from the speedo end of the busted cable to use in the future as a special adapter tool (with your variable speed drill) to spin check a speedometer for proper operation.

If you can remember where you put it when you need it. Very Happy

Just a thought.

I work on several dozen vehicle types and aircraft so I really cannot afford to keep separate tool boxes based on vehicles.
