I need a M38 owner to check if my measurement is correct.

All values are from 0.

I have a template that I got from Beachwood Canvas but,
I want to double check.

I marked 0 like this, rear end of the tub

EDIT: wow Now even the link works Confused

no problem, my tube is original, meantime the jeep is nearly finished, on this pic it was the first road drive.

The canvastop is not an M38 but a cj3a, it fits but not perfectly, the back is different with two zippers to open it during summer.

We saw this afterwards after bying the top, but the top was the last one in a shop and cheap....

well I have a CJ3B/M606 with a M38 top bows and brackets.

As soon as I get the things confirmed I will put on the Top for the first time.
(need to make a bow also but that shouldn't be that hard)

Brand new winter top, made by Beechwood canvas.

Hi Niclas,

I checked on my M38 and the measurements are:

0 to 1 = 5" (12.7 cm)
1 to 2 = 10.25" (26 cm)
2 to 3 = 20" (51 cm)

Hey Maeserik, I looked your album and I saw that you prefer drinking Jupiler beer rather than Kronenbourg Wink Seriously, I have a uncle Joseph Aurelien Bordeleau whom fought with the Governor General's Foot Guards during the World War Two. At this moment, the GGFG was an armoured regiment (4th Canadian Armoured Division, 21st Armoured Regt) and J.A. Bordeleau is died the 1944/10/23 during the battle of Bergen Op Zoom near Wijnegem. He was crew member aboard a Sherman tank and his body has been buried in the Bergen Op Zoom's cemetery and I expect to go in Europe in 2008 to paid my respect and take some pictures of his gravestone.

When you are planning to go there, send me a email, maybe we can join a Jupiler together, or a better and stronger beer ! We in Belgium brew a lot of good and strong beers ( Leffe - Duvel ...... )

Our Jeep drives still fine, we only had to change the inlet manifold, it is a smaller one maybe from a generator. This is wy our max speed reach 50 - 55 mph. 2/3 to full trottle does not increase the speed. But the jeep has good performance and normal our max speed is about 45 mph, just enough to use the highways in Belgium ( 70 km/hour)

all the best Erik
