Does anyone have photos or description of the first aid kit bracket for the 1951 MCM38? In particular the piece that attaches the J hook to the bottom of the glove box.
Thanks.

That's just what I neaded. Thanks. Where did you get the Jhook? Do you know if anyone has the retaining clip available? I'm going to have to get better photo imaging software so I can get a better look at that clip.
Thanks again.

Gentlemen: I was also thinking about installing a first-aid kit on my M-38. I was looking at some repro brackets that sold on the net for about $45.00! Then I saw the photos that Wes supplied and I came up the the idea of using two footman loops and a web strap to hold the kit in place. So last night I secured one footman loop to the the side of the battery box and one footman loop to right side of the bottom of the glove compartment. Then I put two strips of one inch wide self sticking black sponge rubber underneath the glove box and one strip on the side of the battery box. The sponge rubber protects the finish on the first-aid kit and prevents slippage. I then slipped the web strap through the footman loops under and around the side of the first-aid kit and it works great! It looks G.I. and best of all, it didn't cost me a dime!!! What do you think?
Good question. Next step is to check your ORD 9 supply manual and see if the brackets were ever actually a Willys Part.
The parts are simply a hardware store J bolt, the catch piece for an old fashion screen door slide bolt lock and a long hasp. _________________ Wes K
