I own a 1955 M38a1 Nekaf which is in very good condition, so far so good. The only thing which irritates me is the rattling noise of the handbrake. Is there perhaps anyone who knows the solution to this problem.
I have tried to do some adjustments here and there but the result stays the same, always a rattle. I know some other nekafowners and they couldn't solve this either and they say you just have to live with that.
Check all wear points for more than .002 or .003 clearance. You can enlarge some holes for bushings to snug mechanism up. Even adding a spring or two to provide tension and help eliminate rattle at wear points. _________________ Wes K

i had some rattling noise on the accelerator pedal while loosening it during braking. An invissible long spring behind the pedal between the connection with the tube and the connection with the engine and all rattle was gone !
maybe a tip

Thanks guys, why couldn't i come up with the idea of bushings and one or two extra springs. I think this could be the answer. I'll see what i can do this weekend.
