A 46 jeep would be a CJ2A. The CJ3A was produced from 1948 thru 1952. The M38 was produced from 1950 thru 1952.
None of the 46 CJ2A body/frame parts are the same as the m38. Some will still fit but they are not identicle.
None of the CJ3A body/frame parts are identicle to the M38 but the majority can be fitted.
The M38 tailgate has many reinforcements not found on the CJ's. The M38 dash is not at all alike to any of the CJ's. The M38 tub is very different. The M38 fenders have reinforcements, holes and shapes not found on the Cj's. The M38 windshield would be the easiest item to sub with a CJ3A unit since you would only have to modify the vent and add some brackets. The M38 frame is close to the 3A but the front frame rails from the firewall forward are completely boxed, the spring pivot mounts use larger bolts, the brake/clutch pedal support and front bumper bolt on instead of rivets. _________________ Wes K
