Neither. The original M38 and M38A1 color was 2430 OD. This can no longer be found. The closest premixed color is 23070 or late WWII OD.
24087 is the correct 1955 thru about 1970 Army OD and was applied in the field on repaints to earlier vehicles. 34087 is just the gloos version of the semi-gloss 24087.
The engine was the same 2430 OD. The starter, generator and distributor, voltage regulator, aircleaner were black. The little pre-cleaner that mounts on the air cleaner was 2430 OD.The carb was an anodized or cadmium plated finish. the fuel pump was the same.
