The US military were very detailed with the publications for each vehicle. As for the M38A1 there were even manuals in Spanish (surely other languages too..). Below is a scan of one in my possesion: the translation into Spanish of TM 9-8014.
Did you know this? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
Just liked to share this with you guys. Wink Wink Wink

Greetings from Argentina!!!!

Very interesting ! Thanks for posting the picture. I have never heard anything about non-english versions of the manuals. Are these very common down your way? Smile

No Dave, they aren´t that common. In fact this is the only spanish manual I could find in years... Confused
We did receive (together with our 125 M38A1s, all 1962) plenty of the original English manuals (of which I have one of each).
What the Argentine Army did was print the translated version of each in a smaller format and with a different cover, I also have those.
I´m glad the info was interesting Wink

Cheers from Argentina!

Maybe when you have a little spare time you could start another topic telling us about your Argentine M38A1. Did they make any changes from the standard US version, such as speedometer or data plates? Any chance for a picture or two? Thanks! Smile

Dave,
Not much of any differences. These were not built in Argentina. They were transfers of military material under the MAP (Military Assistance Program). Brazil has a large group of them as well.

Hello Dongaston,

have you ever seen a Spanish-language tech manual for the M151-series mutt?

I have seen a photo of the cover from a Mexican Army mutt TM, but I'm still trying to find a copy for my collection.

If you see one, or know anyone who has anything in Spanish for the M151, please let me know... I will be very interested.

Kind regards
Ken

Dear Ken
The Argentine Army received some M151A1s during the ´60s, and further batches of M151A2s later on.
However, I have never seen any Spanish manual for either of them Confused
But, based upon previous "evidence" (the M38A1 Spanish manuals) the US Army may have printed some, don´t you think Confused Confused Confused ?
As for the info you request Dave, I´ll post a new topic soon regarding "our" Wink M38A1s.

Greetings from Argentina

Hello Gaston,
many thanks for your reply.
Yes, I am certain that there will be a Spanish-language TM for the M151 out there somewhere. (I know there is also Greek, Danish and French-language versions)

I will keep searching.... if I find one, I'll post the details here.

Stay well..............
