I am rebuilding my M38 engine and I am in need of the gaskets that help waterproof the engine, Do you know of a source. I have looked at all venders and there are not any for sale. I do have another member who will provide template for making one out of gasket material. I will provide the correct part #s. The front is pn # 7741427 And the rears are pn # 8328048 and 8328049 and the part #s came out of the September 1955 SNL G-740 Page 16, index S,V Z. Thanks for any help.

I doubt you'll be able to find a supplier for those large gaskets. Unless you are intending to ford water with your jeep you don't really need them.
If you still need them then you can trace the plate on gasket material (very thin paper) or on a quality chart paper from the book store.
Another alternative is to apply a thin coat of blue RTV to one surface and spray a very light coat of silicon spray on the mating surface. Do this seperately for both the plate to block and plate to bell. This is what we call a wet seal. It will seal very good and still not stick to the surface you sprayed with the silicon lube spray. _________________ Wes K
