Do you think a M151 heater could be adapted/rigged to work some how to blow hot air into the M38?

Hi, Ken, enjoyed listening to you at Little Rock. A veteran
who used to drive an M38 for officers in Germany told me
that he would remove the plate over the master cylinder,
wrap a GI blanket around his feet over the pedals, and stay
toasty whilst the officer froze. Might work.

Jim, you may have me mixed up with someone else. Did I make a speech?

Ken,
Which type M151 heater are you thinking about? If you have to buy a heater I would try to buy a M38 specific heater either gas fired or hot water since it will be a lot easier then any chop and stick system.

I purchased a model HW-20-2 A hot water heater. It is just the core and blower unit. The M151 group verified that it was for the M151. I thought I could make it work on my jeep.

I didn't know the M38 had a hot water unit made for it.
I thought they were only gas fired. I was trying to put something together that didn't cost a lot.

It mounts the blower and core on the passenger floor well against the tranny hump. Just go to my photo site and view the rest of the pages of the TB.

I am wishing for temps around 30 this week... been in the 20s at night and 35-40 during the day... I have some painting to do on my Willys Wagon and letting paint dry for 2 days is a pain...

Just think only 2 more months of winter and in 6 months we will be wishing it is back because it is too hot...

Overnight lows last 4 days minus 15 to minus 20. Daytime highs were minus 5 to plus 9. Thre more months of winter weather left. By August I am still not looking forward to winter.

Only 38, we are at about 30 and dropping to the 20s again tonight... Very Happy

Can't wait for spring... to be able to work in the garage with out the heater... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

This is great sleeping weather for me, but since Desert Storm I don't handle the cold very well... do not know why, I was raised in Maine and spent most of my winters outside in the snow... Confused

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... Wink
