You don't want a Carter YF civvy carb. You will need a Carter YS950S for the M170.


Civvy YF with clamp on steel 90 degree air horn.


YS950S with integral 90 degree air horn.

I stand corrected yet again, thanks for clarifying that Wes, Btw, whar ord manual is the Primer kit for the YS carb cited? This is my first encounter with that kit, among others as noted. Embarassed

The primer kit is listed in the supply manual ORD 9 SNL G-740 for the M38 but I don't recall if it's in the M170's ORD 9 SNL G-758 by individual pieces. There is also a retro fit kit out there since Willys quit installing the primer system during m38 production. The M38 kit instructions are loaded on my photo site. You can find kit instructions for the G758 series in the heater kit installation instructions.
