Hello ______________?

Can you post the engine's casting number (lower right side of block just ahead of the starter), it's serial number (small flat above the water pump), the head casting number (front right side top) and what if any accessories come with the engine. Is the clutch, flywheel and bellhousing included?

That is the casting number which makes it a WWII or very early 45/47 CJ2A engine. If there is no serial number on the small flat above the water pump then look on the passenger side of the block top forward under the oil filter barcket and you will see an ovel pad there.

WWII & Early CJ serial location

WWII & early CJ date of machining.

This is the next casting after yours but shows the pad above the water pump.

Usually the buyer pays the shipping. The gas tank fits in a box and the aircleaner does too. You send it fedEx or USPS and I would pay the shipping. Usually about $30.00 for a gas tank and about 10-15 dollars for an aircleaner. Email me off the board at shawnhoague@gmavt.net
Thanks,
Shawn

The stampings are usually very light and the paint and grease must come off to read them. Knowing the full number increases the value of your engine significantly.

I'll bet there is a very faint MB prefix in front of the first 5! Looks like it's probably a late WWII block. There would be a machining date on the bottom skirt of the block where the oil pane bolts up next to the rear bearing cap.

Yep,
Late WWII MB block. To confirm it is still with chain drive cam which front timing cover do you have?

Chain drive timing cover. Not pin upper center.

Late gear drive cam timing cover. Note upper center is smooth with no pin or hole.
