This is my first MV restoration project and I am stumped on the primer kit installation. I received an NOS kit with everything in it but the instructions. Also, my maintenance manuals or parts manuals dont paint a clearer picture for me on what goes where. Can someone please walk me through it or send some pictures? I would greatly appreciate it.

My jeep can be seen at www.onesmallearth.com

Thank you!

Hello Girard,

Remove the elbow fitting from the fuel inlet line on the fuel pump and install item 4 in this photo in the inlet prt of the fuel pump. Install the leg of the "T" on the #4 fitting. Put the elbow you removed from the pump inlet fitting and install it in the top of the "T". Insert the new #2 fitting in the bottom port of the "T". Connect the hand primer's suction line #5 to fitting #2. The other line #8 goes down the left side of the valve cover then up and over at the forward edge of the carb.

It's an AN742-X series clamp. Just Google AN742 and the - size is the tubing diameter at 1/16" each size. So for example if the tube is 1/4" that's 4/16" so you order a AN742-4. These mil specs were filled by many vendors and there were subtle differences between each vendors product and this was allowed.
