Does the M38 tailgate suppose to have a slotted plate attached to it for the jerry can strap? If so where might I find one?

My M-38 CDN does... You probably could make one out of stock material...



Where the strap attaches to the tailgate... not a great picture but that is where it goes.

Thanks guys, I'll see if I can make something that will work. It's hard to tell what the dimentions are from the photo, but maybe it will work out.

Well, if you have a strap you can see the slot is just slightly bigger than the strap and the metal on each side of the slot is about 1/4".
