I am cleaning up my distributor on my M38 and have a few questions if anybody can help me.
Does the springs tail go above or below the hole in the photo?

What type of grease should be used on the moving parts? I have been told I need dielectric grease and I have been told regular grease and I have been told to use white lithium grease? I know in the old days they always gave you a little capsule with some special grease in it. I never really new what it was.
Also what goes on the little felt pad under rotor?

Thanks Reddog

The spring tail goes above the hole, so when you in stall the cam piece the spring tail will put tension on the weight post. I put motor oil on the felt. There is another felt piece in the side of the distributor housing to oil the brass bushing. I use lubriplate grease in the space between the two bushings for added protection. Because I noticed that when I took it apart the bottom bearing and shaft face were worn more than the top end. Maybe over done but who cares.
