About a year back I happened to run across a DND internal website which listed all CFRs of Canadian vehicles, including those disposed of in the last couple decades. The info included serial number as well as date disposed etc. I suggested to an interested party that he do a FOI request for the database as it related to the collectible SMPs, and for a whopping $5 he got it. The link below is to his website which is still being developed, in which he lists all the Cdn serial numbers of the Cdn2 and Cdn3s, and is trying to collect photos, both in service and present, of the trucks.
Unfortunately the 50s vintage jeeps had already had their CFRs reused, so were not available. If anyone only has a serial no of their Cdn 2 or Cdn 3 , this will give you your prper Cdn Forces Registration number.
That's going to be a very nice site someday. It might be a good idea to ask him if he wants to be fed known M38CDN and M38A1 CDN serials and CFR's from other data bases like ours. _________________ Wes K

Clive has his contact info on the site. I think the main purpose of it was to make the data available to any owners of the 60s and 70s vintage M series owners.
There is even more data available which he may try and harvest. For each of the vehicles listed, it is possible to pull the computerised maintenance records including units which held the vehicle, modifications done, man hours spent repairing it, and even the sale price when it was surplussed. Truly a collectors dream to get the service records and history of their vehicle.

Wow.
Thanks for the info. I went to the link you posted cmpman and I looked under M38A1 CND3 and there was a picture of MY jeep! Now I am really interested in finding out more about her!
my ser number is 100055.
Do you have the contact info of the person running that site? I would like to know the history of my CFRN number.
If you cut back the link I posted to the home page of the ram tank website, there is a link to Clive's email. You could also post on maple leaf up. Some of the guys on there have better luck than I do getting the data on the jeep's history. Clive's current data is not quite that in-depth.
