I know everyone was getting this from Remi Emond in the for sale section but he is not returning and PM's. Is there another source? Please?

If Remi is not returning calls, do not know of another source other than the manufacturer in Canada... They only wanted to sell large amounts of them...

If you do not mind a substitute... get a 1/8" Pipe to flare fitting adapter and fill the center with solder and it will look the same just not be a valve... I got mine at ACE Hardware...

Hope this helps...

That fitting is fairly simple to duplicate.

I believe the fitting Hal is referring to is the restrictor that goes in the wiper "T" which has no ball or spring in it and can be just soldered shut and then drill a 0.040 hole in it.

The fitting to replace the ball check valve on the Fuel pump and primer pump are the same...

http://fittingsandadapters.com/maleconnector8.html

Solder them closed and they will appear to be correct...

I cannot remember if the fitting in the vaccuume system, Wes is talking about is the same or not... Been a while...

Hope this helps...[/url]

Soldering the fitting closed will not function the same as a springloaded check ball. Again the fitting that gets soldered closed and drilled is not the fuel pump and primer check ball fitting it is the 0.040 restriction vacuum "T" fitting that is used to restrict the vacuum to the distributor housing.

The connector 7375063 with spring loaded ball check valve goes in center of fuel pump.

The connector PN 7348568 in this photo is the fitting we solder shut and then drill 0.404".

The 7375063 is what I need. I am at work so I can't check your pictures Wes. I will check tonight. If it can be made that's great. Thanks for all replies.
Oh, does anyone have one?

Or, does anyone have the spark plug cable clips that go on the valve cover (m38A1/M170)? The parts numbers are (3ea.) WO-8072010 & (1ea.) WO-8072020 from engine and clutch manual TM9-8015-1 page 104 parts "U" and "W". They are also pictured on TM 9-8014 M38A1 Maintenance Manual M38A1 Figure 40 (clip) page 105. I have exhausted all of my normal sources.

Wes, I said it would appear the same... not that it was the same...

This will give the appearance and allow one to plumb the lines and provide a substitute until the proper valve can be found...

This is what I am using on my M-38CDN...

One note - should anyone decide to install the ball check valve; check your valve... you may find the spring, ball and little part that holds them together in your fuel pump vacuume section... the motor vibration causes them to unscrew internally and work their way into the fuel pump vacuume section...

The ball check valve needs to be soldered or punched in such a way that it does not come apart once installed...

That is why I have a sub in place on mine I had it happen...

I still have one valve left but that will go into the primer line when I decide to plumb for the primer...

Hope this helps...

Hal, You are trying to hard. It will look ok without any soldering at all. Just stick the straight adapter in there and go. That vent port is normally vented to the atmosphere when the fording vent system is not used. You should not close it off by soldering the substitute fitting shut.

The threaded plug must be set to just apply a very slight pressure to the ball's spring and then be staked or soldered to prevent loosening in service.

Bill if what you are calling a restrictor is the ball check then I am VERY interested. It is the reason I started this thread.

PM sent

This is what I have

I also think I have one more of the check valves somewhere, might not be until spring that I find it however.

Bill,
He just needs to know that the fitting at the far right of your photo has the three parts inside shown in my photo.
