Very Happy When I restored my M-38, I brought the entire windshield frame to the glass shop and they cut, fit and installed it. I gave them the windshield gasket to. It was about 3 years ago now it it cost me $150.00. I live in the People's Republic of New Jersey, it could be cheaper where you live. Good Luck.

Did your frame still have the old glass in it when you carried it to the shop ? I will be needing some new glass also. I hope I don't have a problem getting new glass. Thanks, Stick

No, it didn't have the glass, now they are saying they should be able to do it. I'm just glad I can start posting on here. Recent deployments have kept me from all of my fun stuff!

No. It was a new repro windshield frame. The corners on the glass have to be cut on a radius which is covered with the rubber gasket. They rough cut the radius and sand it smooth.

The glass shops with the smart guys know how to transfer opening dimensions minus gasket thickness to a sheet of glass and cut it to fit. You either got the dummy in the shop or just the wrong guy in the shop. If they still can't figure it out try a different shop.

I "stole" my windshield. A car restorer freind turned me on to a local one man mobile glass shop. For $100.00 he cut, fit and supplied both glass and weatherstrip. He even picked it up and delivered the finished product to my shop. This is probably the cheapest thing I'll ever get for my M38.It pays to call around the "big" shops were all quoting me around $250.00.
