If you look in the M38 Serial number database in the DOWNLOADS section of this site, it has two other 19XXX and some 20XXX M38s all dated in May of 1951. As for where it served, I don't have any idea what to tell you. Ryan might have some information -- I don't know what all information he gathered for his book. At least you have a month now. Good luck! _________________ I SWEAR it said Tab A went into Slot B!
It is extremely rare when a military jeep finds it way into civilian hands with a copy of it's motor pool records in it. They were routinely destroyed when the jeep was declared surplus. Without those the only way to determine it's assignment history is to slowly sand away years of paint while looking closely for unit markings. You can also review as many web sites with historical photos that you can to see if you can spot your hood number in one of them. _________________ Wes K
