1951 MC 11116 work in progress.

Seeking info on engine identification.

After cleaning have just located the engine number stamped above waterpump with matching numbers on tag riveted to block below the distributor.

Engine is Kaiser Supersonic # 3530838. Note no MC or RMC so gather it may be a civilian engine.

Also noted the absence of water pump bypass hose to the cylinder head.

Any ideas??

Most likely a Kaiser/Frazier automobile engine.

No. A CJ3A engine would have a serial number 3JXXXXXX. It is a Kaiser or Frazer automobile engine that someone put in your jeep. For a while Kaiser and Frazer autos used the WEillys engine.

The engine is probably from a Henry-J. Do you have a photo of the rear flange area of the engine?

Thanks,

The front plate and motor mounts are different and the intake manifold is different. Both can be swapped out the the M38 parts.
