That jeep used the standard 1960's vintage CJ5 firewall mounted heater on the driver's side which was optional. If you do not have the heater mounted then you must have the plate that covers the large rectangular hole.

Here you can see the heater next to the firewall serial data plate.

Hello Claudio,

Ryan and I from the start wanted a web site that offered all the things the G503 site offered but have it all concentrated on the Willys / Kaiser military jeeps built after WWII and store as much data as possible here free for the use of all members. Back around 2001 or so after we noticed how the mucky mucks on the old G web site would treat new guys like dummies and talk down their noses at them and feed little tid bits of info a tiny bit at a time we both started looking for a platform that would allow none of that. I opened my M38/M38A1 Yahoo Group back then and by controlling the membership approval and monitoring the web site we kept it all on a friendly and helpful basis. About 2004 Ryan came up with the www.willysmjeeps.com idea and we took off with it. Again we were careful to not let in spammers and talk down the nose types and it has worked quite well. There is no where on the web where a person can find the services and materials available here free and as a bonus, without the tribulations found on the other web sites. .

In fact I have not seen in any other website so prompt and accurate explanations in response to all sort of questions about jeeps in general. . On the other hand, posts from so many members of the site about different subjects are themselves a pile of entertainment. I have personally learned so much about these "little toys" that I am already helping others on finding answers for a sort of questions, that are becoming obvious for me at the moment...you deserve my best compliments, please keep this site moving and many thanks for your valuable help on restoring my jeeps. I have two WW vehicles (MB and WC-57), but I tell you, I'm having so much fun restoring my new purchases (2 M-170's, M38, M100 and recently the M606A3), thanks mostly to you and the way you treat your members in such a neat manner. All best and... Wink take care Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

Hi Luis,
I am currently out of town for a business trip, in fact very close to the argentine/brazilian border (Missiones). I can give more accurate responses concerning your questions and photos as soon as I get back home. This will be next week.
Briefly I can tell you:
1 - This M606A3 is a 1969 Kaiser Jeep Co. production. I will give you mfg date and chassis number as well.
2 - The original 24V auxiliary energy supply has been removed from the brazilian army, probably when it was auctioned during late 80's or so. The same with the radio setup. Fortunately I have alreaduy bought an original AN-VRC46 (radio RT524+MX6707 Antenna+base and all related cables ) and will be installing next.
3 - The vehicle has been "suffered" a frame-off restored according to the suplement leaflet that was furnished by Wes Knettle (web administrator). This was all I had. I will send you photos soon. Give me your personal e-mail. In which part of Argentina are you located?
Best!
Claudio

Hi Claudio

Thanks for the prompt response to my questions!

Congratulations, you have a beautiful and rare jeep!

I'm glad you want to leave original!

The Argentine army, received about 12 M606a2, of which we know there are two survivors. Some others were converted to M38A1.

I live in Buenos Aires, Capital Federal, Argentina.

Wait for your pics!! Very Happy

Cheers

Let me know your private mail for sending you pics. Believe it or not, but I still don't know how to post pics on this website, despite all explanations from the administrators. Dummy jeeper!
