Do you think this a M38A1C that has been bubbadized?

Notice the notch in the windshield and how it has had a tail gate installed. Also note the spare tire installed on the side.

Ad description says it was used in Germany.

He wants $2,500 for it (way to much imho for a normal M38a1 in that shape).

It should tell you on the data plate, if its the original

I thought the data plates where the same as a regular M38a1 and they were modified after the fact?

I am probably wrong though...

It looks like it may be one. Take a look at some photos at:

I do not recall any difference in the dash data plates. There is a kit data plate that is installed on the rear right panel.

I am restoring an M38A1C and need the 106 data plate and the spare tire mount shown in the photos. Anyone know where I can find same?? Smile

Hi, There is a guy named Robert Dudkovski in Polen that reproduces all kinds of MV plates. He may have the original pattern, otherwise you can send him a photo with descriptions of the plate. He has the correct fonts.
If you are actually interested, I can take a look at my list of e-mails and lateron inform you. I bought a pair of plates for my M170 from him that are very close to originals, at a reasonable price.
