Greetings all, the best of the season to you and yours. I would like to know about carb kits. Are there many different kits made for the YS 950s carb, or is there only one supplier of components making one kit? I am trying to understand where to get the parts I need to rebuild my carb, and need to know of suppliers. Thanks so much, Rick. p.s. no sense looking in several places if I'm ending up at the same supplier.

Rick,

I don't have my info with me at the moment as I am clandestinely on the computer at work this morning.

However, if I remember correctly, Army Jeep Parts or John Bizal should have some good rebuild kits. They are easily found on the internet.

I am sure others will post with good information.

Good luck!
Cool

NOS kits will have very old materials and diaphrams will not stand up to the unleaded gas.

Foreign kits are junk.

The kits from Midwest Mil and AJP are identicle and are perfect in every way. Just remember they sell one kit which has all the parts needed for both carbs M38 and M38A1.

And finally the carburetor shop is the only other supplier of quality kits I know of for these two carbs.

As an aside no matter what you see in the manual illustrations the springs for both diaphrams go against the metal covers.

I recently got a couple of carb kits from Midwest Military. I just finished rebuilding my spare carb for my M38. I put it on and the jeep runs great. These kits are excellent and come with everything you need including a parts list and an updatd exploded view. As per Wes and Ryans advice above this is a good way to go. Very Happy
