New to this forum, but have been involved with jeeps since 1970. I brought this home a couple weeks ago; the plan is to clean it up and drive it. I love old iron, but prefer to use it pretty much daily.
Data plate SN: 71522 DOD: 2-54
W/O plate: 71522
Engine SN: 90768
Hood Number: 201001152
Block casting #: 806279 W 2-D-AR

Wes/Ryan, how do I enter the vehicle info into the database?

Hello John,

You just need to fill out the survey form I emailed you when you joined. I'll email another just in case you overlooked it. I'll also add the CJV35 survey as well. Did you reply to Bob Westerman's request for data on your CJV?

Unrestored, you can't get much better than that. Amazing the original springs looks like they are not sagging.

Thanks all.

Wes, I'll look forward to the surveys sent to me. I responded to Bob re the V35.

I'll keep this jeep original, except that it has a 12v conversion in it from the PO. Slowly I'll get all the 24v parts (already have 3 of 4 gauges and the distributor). I say slowly because the 24v specific parts can be pricey if you get in a hurry. I'm working on putting the seats together now, that is, in the process of shelling out $ to buy frames and cushions. Only the 24v system and the seats have been altered. Very few extra holes have been drilled into the body (it came with a bubba rollbar) and only two in the frame (tow bar mounts).

About the springs: it was one of the first things I noticed about the jeep- the springs didn't sag. After 50+ years, you'd think they would. To me, it was an indication that maybe the jeep had not seen severe use or been routinely overloaded. The bed is in excellent shape also.
