I saw a commercial for the History Channel show "Auction Kings" and they had an M38 jeep restored by Tom Petty that was going to be auctioned off - show was listed for Tuesday night - I think 10PM EST - you may want to check your local listings.

Its a cj2a/3a/38/mb heinz 57 jeep, a real mess and shotty restoration, done by richard petty the racecar driver, this mess of a jeep was on ebay I can't believe it brought 20,000 and he didnt sell it. The only thing done right on the whole jeep was the autograph on the dash.

Zane,

I just saw the commercial again and you are right. I had to freeze frame it because you only get a glimpse of it.

That is too bad. Only reason it would bring money is that it was Richard Petty's and he autographed it.

Too bad...

You're not kidding. What a mish-mash! I just watched the Youtube video of the auction and could see the differences. I think the big draw was that it had been done and signed by Richard Petty.

Richard is a better driver than restorer.
