Does anyone have a good clear diagram of how the parts go together in the clutch rod part # 7372823. I think I could figure it out but want to make sure. This is the rod that mounts to the frame and tcase.

Go to http://www.surplusjeep.com/M38/M38_%20Lead_%20Page.htm and click on the Clutch group and you'll get a fairly clean version of the drawing that is in the ORD 9 - much better than the one in the PDF that I downloaded from this site, anyway. With that drawing and the part designators and part list, you can pretty easily tell the order of assembly. Better than nothing, anyway.

THE ORD 9 SNL G-740 FIG 02-2 IS WHAT I USED.
THERE ARE 2 SHEETS, THE CODED DRAWING AND
THE CODE LEGEND. THE ORD 9 IS A VALUABLE
RESOURCE ON THE BENCH. I DOWNLOADED IT,
PRINTED, 3 HOLE PUNCHED AND PUT IT IN A
BINDER-REFER TO IT EVERY DAY.. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Rick, that is the one I had been looking at from the download on this page. Its a bit dark to tell whats goig on. The one Jim suggested is a little less muddled. I think I'll get it worked out.
Thanks guys _________________ Brett

I AGREE THE DRAWING IS DARK BUT THE KEY LEGEND
CLEARS IT UP A BIT. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

You can copy any of the images from the site I linked above and save them to your own computer, print them out, etc. I think they are WAY cleaner than those in the download of the manual on this site. We saw the same difference between the TM9-8014B manual we purchased and the downloadable version. Either different sources or someone spent a lot of time cleaning up the images for printing. Whichever, I feel fortunate to have access to ANY of it - this stuff was unknown to me when I bought my M38 back in '78. All I could find then was a Clymer manual for the MB which was a compilation of two or three Ordnance manuals. _________________ Jim M.

Usually the PDF copies are scanned at low resolution to cut down on file size and time. They are adequate. I have all the PDF versions of those manuals. I also purchased original and reprints of the ones I use regularly for the better quality images found in them. The reprints if done on an offset type printer are much better quality then the copier versions. _________________ Wes K
