Hello all,
Does anyone have any input on adding marvel mystery oil to the fuel in the M38. My mechanic says it will help with my 2000 GMC. He says the ethinol added in the fuel is horrible and some gas stations in the area tested close to 30% ethinol content and they advertise 10%. I've got a great motor and would like to keep it as such.
Thanks, Rob

There are thousands of folks in the 1800's bought many different elixars because the peddlers said they cured everything. Well the Elixars today are all the fools drugs on the market and the elixars of the mechanical world are all the aftermarket additives on the shelf. Marvel MYSTERY oil is one of those many modern elixars that fixes all your problems.

If you apply a wee bit of common sense to this rediculous circus show on the store shelves you will realize that if all that crap did what it really says it does it would already be in the fuel or oil you buy. Why? Because the oil companies aren't stupid. Why would they sell you gallons of fuel and oils that have limited performance until you buy the other guy's elixar? It's all a pile of BS.

If you want good quality and performance from your fuel, oil or auto then buy quality fuel, oil and autos and maintain them IAW the manufacturer's instructions.

The next time a guy tells you "you really need to add this to your oil or gas" ask him to show you the independent laboratory report that supports his claim. Guess what? There are no independentv laboratory reports to support his claim.

Ever wonder what the MYSTERY is in Marvel Mystery Oil? Next time you have a chance to get a quart of Ford type F automatic transmission fluid next to a can of Marvel mystery Oil make your own comparison!

I'd love to hear the scientific explanation for marvel mystery oil stops my carb from overflowing!!!! My money is on a little dirt on the float needle seat that washed away about the time you got hooked on Marvel Mystery Oil!!!

Nothing personal here. I am like a home boy from Missouri the YOU KNOW SHOW ME STATE At some time in everyone's life the need arises for a comforter or a crutch and we grab whatever is at hand. I was next to the Heineken rack when I felt that need other's were in Walmart next to the Marvel Mystery Oil rack! Wink

You guys are being too rational. How can you not like something called Marvel Mystery Oil? If we knew how it worked, where's the mystery?

Sea Foam seems to be the local cure all. They may even drink it in Wisconsin.

I do believe in Sta-Bil and fogging oil for winter storage.

Anyone remember Bardahl Top Oil? We used to add the 4 oz can to a fill up to provide upper cylinder lubrication. And there was another one for the oil. I truly believe the stuff was also Type F. I stopped using it years ago and my upper cylinders never went away as a result.

Never stop using Heiniken though. Yer pipes will rust and yer exhaust may quit workin' too.

I think every model of driver has a different size tank. There was a story on the news this past week about some guy in florida who told police that he'd had 48 beers. Then he said he thought that was about 10 too many. Check it out. Smile
