I have had low oil pressure problems and took the pump off finding out it is a non military pump, Are there any benefits to installing a military pump or rebuilding the civilian?

Thanks Larry

No. Just rebuild the one you have. Not a lot that can be done to rebuild any of the oil pumps other then cleaning up wear surfaces, check they are still in limits and adding new gaskets. Low oil pressure has many root causes so if your rebuilt pump equals no change in pressure be prepared for a very long & hard search.

Have you already adjusted the pump's relief valve?

If you have then the common lists of low oil pressure issues is:

1-Excessive bearing clearance.
2-Missing oil restriction at oil filter.
4-Missing spray nozzle at cam gears.
5-Wrong diameter jet bore in same nozzle.
6-Worn lifter bodies or lifter bores.
7-Leaking oil gallery plugs.
