This was a great ride. Seven vehicles made the trip, 3 old Jeeps, 1 Cherokee, 1 Humvee and 2 large trucks. The Humvee and trucks belonged to members of the Idaho MVPA.

Weather was good, 50-70 degrees and mostly sunny, no wind.

The roads we travelled on through the Boise National Forest varied from narrow, rocky, steep, switchbacked and hanging onto the side of the canyon, to smooth and graded.

We all made it through Part 1 of the trip, the Boise to Idaho City portion. After a late lunch (3:00 p.m.) in Idaho City, 4 of the vehicles, including us, got onto Hwy 21 and headed back to Boise. Three went back into the forest for some more riding. We’re looking forward to going back to do Part 2, Idaho City to Boise Ridge Road, another time.

Hunting season was on. We passed a group with 4 deer on the ground around their truck and saw a small pickup truck with a large elk in the back.

The Boise N.F. supports all kinds of recreation. We saw hikers, mountain bikers, motorcyclists and atvs.

I've added the link to Doug's video below these pictures.

Fixing a flat along Grimes Creek. Everyone pitched in, the spare was installed and we were on our way.

Another shot at the scene of the flat.

Near Centerville.

This building in Idaho City always draws attention.
