Well, we have finally done it. We have a USA made exact copy of the M38 PB cable. I will have the first sample in my hands on Wednesday the 22nd of Feb. Correct wire wrapped cable with clevis, nut, and upper cable clamp. Get yours soon, it will be a limited production run. www.midwestmil.com or call me at 952-440-8778. John

Just an update. Upon inspection of the sample cable, there were several things we did not like. Original cable is .250 outside diameter. The new sample was made like the original with wrapped wire and the outside spring wire, but, it was .345 in outside diameter. The transfer case end was also larger, but, they offered to include a new clamp for that size end. We have asked them to look into resizing the cable to the original size, and we are now waiting for an answer. I will keep you posted. John

I was on the phone with John when the sample cable arrived and listed while he compared it to an original one he had on hand... Not sure if I can explain just how excited he, and I, were...
I told him that I would take two of them when he was satisfied with them and was ready to ship...

Ryan,

He sent this to me yesterday.......................

Bad news on the PB cable. The US company, true to form, has declined
to make the appropriate changes to the sample to make it more correct.
It poses some fit issues. I have another company lined up to make a
more correct one. We'll see. Cowl rubber is also a problem according
to the molding company. $$$ issues. Hope to have that solved by
week's end. John
